About Pagelo

Pagelo is a set of free tools for working with PDFs and images: merge, split, compress, sign, convert, protect and much more. No sign-up, no watermarks and no usage limits.

Why it exists

Most PDF websites upload your documents to their servers to process them. That's fine for a restaurant menu, but not for a contract, a payslip, a bank statement or a medical report. Pagelo was created to do the same job without your files ever leaving your device.

How it works

When you open a tool, your browser downloads the program that makes it work. From then on, all the work happens on your phone or computer: the document is read, changed and saved without being sent anywhere. That's why Pagelo also works offline, and can be installed as an app.

Don't take our word for it: check

1. Open any tool, for example Merge PDF.
2. Turn off wifi and mobile data.
3. Use the tool as normal: it will work just the same, because it doesn't need to send anything.

On a computer you can also press F12 and open the “Network” tab: you'll see that when a file is processed, the page doesn't send anything.

How it stays free

Pagelo is funded by advertising. Ads never have access to your documents, which still never leave your device. You can find the details in the privacy policy.

Open-source technology

Pagelo builds on widely used open-source projects, such as Mozilla's pdf.js to display PDFs, pdf-lib to modify them and Tesseract for text recognition. Their authors make it possible to do all this in the browser.
