Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens in your browser: your documents never leave your device and nobody else can see them.
What is a searchable PDF?
It's the same PDF, looking exactly the same, but with an invisible text layer. That lets you search for words, select them and copy them.
Does it recognize handwriting?
It works well with printed text. Handwriting is recognized poorly.
Why does it take a while?
Recognition runs on your own device so your documents are never uploaded to a server. The first time, it downloads about 5 MB.
