Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens in your browser: your documents never leave your device and nobody else can see them.
Is it safe? Can't the black box be removed?
It can't be removed: redacted pages are turned into images and the original text disappears. Drawing a black box with other programs sometimes leaves the text underneath, where it can still be copied.
Does it find everything automatically?
It finds data written as text. It can miss things in scanned PDFs or unusual formats, so always check the document and redact anything missed by hand.
