Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens in your browser: your documents never leave your device and nobody else can see them.
Do old .doc files work?
They can't be read in the browser. Open them in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice and save them as .docx.
Will it look the same as in Word?
The content will; the design may change slightly (fonts, headers and footers). For documents with complex layouts, save as PDF from Word.
