Why convert PNG to JPG
PNG stores every pixel losslessly, which is great for screenshots and charts but makes photos very large. A photo in PNG can take five or ten times more space than in JPG without looking better. Converting it cuts the size a lot with barely any visible difference.
When it's better to keep PNG
- Images with transparent backgrounds, such as logos: JPG doesn't support transparency.
